2007 Annual AFPAG Conference a GREAT Success!!!!!

The Adoptive and Foster Parent Association of Georgia is proud to announce a highly successful annual conference once again.  Our 34th annual conference was held at Jekyll Island, Georgia.  There were numerous areas that contributed to the success of this year's conference including top quality presenters, educational workshops and a Friday night benefit concert with three top artists performing country gospel music.

This year the conference had its share of "firsts". This was our "first" year to try online registration, which is how the majority of our attendees chose to register. We also tried a new scanning system, which allowed attendees to be scanned in and out of classes, which allowed pertinent training hours to be sent to local county offices soon after the conference ended. Another "first" for our fellow foster parents was the honor of meeting three incredible entertainers, Brian Arnold, Wayne Warner and Jamie Fox. Jamie has produced a CD entitled "As Big As My Heart" with rights given to AFPAG for future sales. For more information on obtaining this CD, contact Mr. Glenn Lewis, our conference chair.

Mr. Lewis was also pleased with the outcome of this year's conference. "I feel for us to have introduced so many "firsts" this year, our attendees were troopers reinforcing the fact that foster and adoptive parents are some of the best people I have the pleasure of knowing," Mr. Lewis remarked. "I am always proud of our members who want to work as a team," he continued.
We cannot speak about the success of this conference, without mentioning the numerous presenters who conducted our workshops.  Many of these presenters were happy to attend conference this year, as well as in year's past, because they love and appreciate foster parents and have a desire to help and support all of us.  For that dedication and kindness, we appreciate their return year after year.

We appreciate all of the foster and adoptive parents who attended this year's conference.  If you would like to be a part of next year's conference, look for upcoming conference news, which will be on our website and in future Seekers.
