2004 Wrap-up

The 2004 Annual Conference was a landmark one.  Here are some highlights:

  • Georgia's First Lady, Mary Perdue, attended to lend her support to Georgia's Adoptive and Foster Parents.
  •  We had the largest attendance ever at an annual conference - approximately 1,500!  Thank you for your support.
  • We introduced the membership to the Foster Parent Bill of Rights legislation - which is now law!  Signed into law on May 5, 2004 by Governor Sonny Perdue.
  • We secured more than 900 names on a petition to the Georgia Legislature encouraging their support for this landmark legislation - that means more than 60% of the attendees signed the petition - remarkable!
  • We had the highest quality training sessions ever - feedback on the evaluation forms indicated that attendees were extremely pleased with their training.
  • We included more general sessions for everyone, which made it easier to cover important topics.

And these are just a few of the highlights.  Send us your suggestions for things you'd like to see at the next Annual Conference.  It's not too late!
